The Essence
The human body is not merely a biological machine; it is a crystallized frequency of the cosmos. The ancient Rishis understood that the 'Pinda' (the microcosm of the body) is an exact reflection of the 'Brahmanda' (the macrocosm of the universe). We do not simply have organs; we have planetary antennas. To study anatomy without understanding the planetary forces is to study the engine while ignoring the electricity that powers it. Why do specific patterns of strain or sensitivity recur? Because the planetary governor of that tissue is asking for balance.
Classical Verse
"Majjasthimamsa sukram cha snayu chaapi tvacha tatha | Rudhiram cheti dhatunam kramadarkadayah khagah || (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Ch. 3, V. 18)"
Modern Translation
This sloka defines the Saptadhatus (Seven Tissues) governed by the planets, serving as a foundation of Ayur-Jyotish (wellness-oriented) symbolism. The Sun rules Asthi (Bone/Structure); the Moon rules Rakta (Blood/Fluids); Mars rules Majja (Marrow/Nerve Tissue); Mercury rules Tvacha (Skin); Jupiter rules Vasa (Fat/Adipose Tissue); Venus rules Shukra (Reproductive/Seminal Fluid); and Saturn rules Snayu (Muscles/Tendons). In a modern framing, this points to recurring themes of structure (Solar), flow (Lunar), heat/action (Martian), boundaries/communication (Mercurial), nourishment/expansion (Jupiterian), attraction/pleasure (Venusian), and discipline/time (Saturnian). This material is educational and reflective—not a substitute for professional medical care.
Practical Insight
Here is the insight that separates the novice from the master: Do not only look at the 6th Lord for health-related themes. Look at the 'Khara' planets (lords of the 2nd and 7th from the Ascendant and Moon) and their relationship to a Dhatu. If the Sun is afflicted by Saturn in the chart, focusing only on surface-level changes may feel insufficient because the 'Agni' (fire) of consistent effort is blocked. The remedy must be spiritual and behavioral first: take responsibility (Sun) and establish boundaries (Saturn), then support the body with steady routines.
Go Deeper
Open your chart now and identify the planet with the lowest degree (excluding Rahu/Ketu). Identify which Dhatu (tissue) it governs based on the lesson above. Do you notice recurring sensitivity themes connected to this area?
