Take Exam (Pay Later)The Architecture: Kendras, Trikonas, Dusthanas
The Essence
Not all real estate is equal. In the chart, some houses are palaces (Trikonas), some are power plants (Kendras), and some are hospitals or prisons (Dusthanas). Knowing the nature of the house is more important than the planet in it. A 'good' planet in a 'bad' house becomes a doctor in a war zone—helpful, but stressed.
Classical Verse
"Kendra (Angles): 1, 4, 7, 10. Trikona (Trines): 1, 5, 9. Dusthana (Evil): 6, 8, 12. Upachaya (Growth): 3, 6, 10, 11."
Modern Translation
Kendras (1, 4, 7, 10): The pillars of life. They bring action and tangible results. Planets here are strong and active. Trikonas (1, 5, 9): The houses of Dharma and Luck. They bring blessings without effort. Planets here flourish. Dusthanas (6, 8, 12): The houses of suffering. 6 is struggle/debt, 8 is trauma/transformation, 12 is loss/isolation. Planets here are damaged or forced to deal with negativity. Upachayas (3, 6, 10, 11): The houses of improvement. Planets here (especially Malefics like Mars/Saturn) get better with time and effort.
Practical Insight
The 'Vipareeta Raja Yoga'. If the lord of a Dusthana (6, 8, 12) sits in another Dusthana (e.g., 6th Lord in the 8th), it creates a 'Reversal of Fortune'. The negative cancels the negative, creating sudden success arising from a crisis. Never strengthen a Dusthana lord with a gemstone unless it is forming this specific Yoga.
Go Deeper
Identify the lords of your 6th, 8th, and 12th houses. Where are they sitting? If they are in Kendras, they bring their problems to the forefront of your life. If they are in other Dusthanas, they might be protecting you.
