Take Exam (Pay Later)The Mandukya Map: The 4 States of Reality
The Essence
We have spent 17 units building a complex map of reality. Now, we burn the map. The Mandukya Upanishad teaches that all of this—the planets, the houses, the karma—exists only in the 'Waking State' (Jagrat). But who are you when you dream? Who are you in deep sleep? And who is the Witness watching all three? Astrology applies to the character in the movie, not the Screen on which it plays.
Classical Verse
"Nantah-prajnam, na bahish-prajnam... (Mandukya Upanishad, Verse 7)."
Modern Translation
The 4 States of Consciousness & Their Astrological Signatures: 1. Jagrat (Waking): The world of the 1st House (Body) and 10th House (Action). Ruled by the Sun (Ego) and Mars (Will). Here, karma is 'Hard'. 2. Swapna (Dreaming): The Astral world. The Navamsha (D9) reality. Ruled by the Moon (Mind) and Mercury (Imagination). Here, karma is fluid. 3. Sushupti (Deep Sleep): The Causal body. The 12th House. Ruled by Jupiter (Expansion) and Saturn (Silence). Here, the seeds of karma exist in potential form. 4. Turiya (The Fourth): The Witness. It has no house. It is the center of the chart (Brahmasthana). It is the silence *between* the dashas. Ketu is the flagbearer of Turiya—the one who disconnects the plug.
Practical Insight
The 'Sleep Yoga' (Yoga Nidra). The 12th House is often feared as 'Loss'. But in Advaita, Loss = Liberation. The remedy for a heavy 12th House period (Sade Sati or 12th Lord Dasha) is to consciously practice Deep Sleep meditation. By voluntarily entering the 'Void' of the 12th House through meditation, you satisfy the planetary demand for 'non-existence' without having to lose your worldly assets.
Go Deeper
Tonight, as you fall asleep, try to catch the moment you transition from Waking to Sleeping. That gap is the 12th House. Who is watching the transition? That Watcher is beyond the zodiac.
