Take Exam (Pay Later)Nakshatra 7: Punarvasu
The Essence
Imagine the calm after a violent storm, where the sun breaks through the clouds. This is Punarvasu, the 'Return of the Light.' It represents the cosmic principle of restoration and renewable resources.
Attributes
- Deity: Aditi (Mother of Gods)
- Ruler: Jupiter
- Symbol: Quiver of Arrows / House
- Gana: Deva (Divine)
- Quality: Movable / Chara
Psychology
Gifts: Optimism, renewal, nurturing, forgiveness, and simplicity. They always land on their feet.
Shadows: Indecision, lack of focus, complacency, and a tendency to repeat mistakes before learning.
Mythology
Aditi, the Mother of the Gods, once lost her kingdom and her children (the Devas) to the demons. Instead of despairing, she performed a rigorous penance to Vishnu, cooking a special rice offering (Payasam) with total devotion. Pleased, Vishnu was born as her son, Vamana (the Dwarf Avatar), who then tricked the Demon King Bali and restored the three worlds to Aditi's children. This is the core of Punarvasu: the ability to lose everything, yet through patience and simple devotion, have it all 'returned again' (Punar-Vasu) in a higher form.
