The Essence
The chart is a hall of mirrors. 'Bhavat Bhavam' means 'from house to house'. It is the principle of derivative houses. Why is the 5th house the house of children? Because it is the 11th (gains) from the 7th (marriage). Why is the 8th house longevity? Because it is the 12th (loss) from the 9th (fortune).

"Panchamam navamam chaiva... (The 5th from the 5th is the 9th)."
Modern Translation
This technique allows you to read deeper layers of reality: 3rd House: Your courage. Also the 8th from the 8th (the longevity of your longevity). 4th House: Your mother. Also the 12th from the 5th (loss of children/empty nest). 9th House: Your father. Also the 5th from the 5th (the creative intelligence of your creative intelligence). 10th House: Your career. Also the 9th from the 2nd (the luck of your bank account). If you want to know about your spouse's career, look at the 10th from the 7th (which is the 4th House).
Practical Insight
The 'Karako Bhava Nashaya' Rule. If the Karaka (Significator) of a house sits in that specific house, it can sometimes spoil the house due to 'over-crowding' of energy. For example, Jupiter (Karaka for Children) in the 5th House can sometimes cause delays with children. The remedy is to focus on the other significations of Jupiter (wisdom, teaching) to relieve the pressure on the child-bearing aspect.
