Mythology
The birth of the Ashwini Kumaras is a tale of passion and disguise. Sanjna, the wife of the Sun God Surya, could no longer withstand his intense heat and brilliance. She fled to the forests, transforming herself into a mare to hide. Surya, missing his beloved, located her and transformed himself into a stallion. Their reunion in these animal forms was so explosive and vital that the twin physicians, the Ashwini Kumaras, were born instantly. This myth encapsulates the Ashwini energy: raw, primal, swift, and born of a desire that transcends form.
